More hotel programs convert into Avios than you’d think — Hilton, IHG, Accor, Méliá, Radisson, and Choice Privileges all have a conversion path through British Airways Executive Club. But there’s an important asymmetry worth understanding before you convert anything: every one of those is a one-way door. Only Marriott Bonvoy can move value in both directions — we cover that separate, bidirectional relationship in our guide to converting Avios to hotel points.
The One Exception: Marriott Is Two-Way
Marriott Bonvoy connects to Avios through Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and uniquely among hotel programs, that relationship runs both directions:
| Detail | Figure |
|---|---|
| Rate | 3 Marriott points = 1 Avios |
| Bonus | 5,000 bonus Avios for every 60,000 Marriott points converted |
| Daily range | 3,000 to 240,000 Marriott points |
That bonus structure is a standing feature of the program, not a limited-time promo — it’s been part of Marriott’s official transfer terms for a while and remains active. Every other hotel program below only sends points into Avios — there’s no route back from Avios into their currency.
The One-Way Hotel-to-Avios Partners
These programs all convert into Avios through British Airways Executive Club, each at its own rate:
| Hotel Program | Conversion Rate | Avios Received (Example) |
|---|---|---|
| Hilton Honors | 10,000 Hilton = 1,000 Avios (10:1) | 100,000 Hilton → 10,000 Avios |
| IHG One Rewards | 10,000 IHG = 2,000 Avios (5:1) | 100,000 IHG → 20,000 Avios |
| Accor Live Limitless | 4,000 ALL = 2,000 Avios (2:1) via BA | 40,000 ALL → 20,000 Avios |
| Méliá Rewards | 100 = 30 Avios (~3.3:1) | 10,000 Méliá → ~3,000 Avios |
| Radisson Rewards | 2,000 = 200 Avios (10:1) | 20,000 Radisson → 2,000 Avios |
| Choice Privileges | 5,000 = 1,000 Avios (5:1) | 50,000 Choice → 10,000 Avios |
One rate worth double-checking yourself: Accor Live Limitless also has a separate conversion listing through Iberia Plus (part of the same Avios family as BA) that’s been reported at a more favorable 1:1 ratio rather than BA’s 2:1. Since Accor sets a different exchange ratio per airline partner despite both resulting in the same pooled Avios, it’s worth comparing both routes in your own accounts before converting a large Accor balance — don’t assume the BA rate is automatically the one you’ll get.
World of Hyatt has no conversion path to Avios at all — if you’re sitting on Hyatt points hoping to move them into Avios, there currently isn’t a way to do that, direct or indirect.
Why This Matters for Radisson and Choice Specifically
Radisson Rewards and Choice Privileges are now integrated as part of the same loyalty ecosystem — see our guide to the Choice Privileges and Radisson Americas integration for how points move between the two. Both still route into Avios through BA individually at the rates above; the integration doesn’t change the Avios conversion mechanics.
How to Convert
The general process is the same across all of these programs: log into the hotel program’s own site, find the airline/partner transfer section, select British Airways Executive Club (or Qatar Airways Privilege Club specifically for Marriott), link your accounts if you haven’t already, and choose the amount to convert. Processing time varies by program but commonly takes anywhere from a few days up to several weeks — check the specific hotel program’s own transfer page for its stated timeline before counting on the Avios landing by a particular date.
Is Converting Hotel Points to Avios a Good Idea?
It depends entirely on what you’d otherwise do with the hotel points. At rates like Hilton’s 10:1 or Radisson’s 10:1, you’re giving up a lot of hotel-redemption value for a comparatively small number of Avios — Hilton points in particular tend to be worth more redeemed directly for hotel stays than converted into Avios at that rate. IHG’s 5:1 and Choice’s 5:1 are somewhat more reasonable, and Marriott’s 3:1-plus-bonus is the best rate of the group by a clear margin, which tracks with it being the only program with a genuine bidirectional relationship rather than a one-off conversion option.
This makes the most sense when you have hotel points you’re not going to use for hotel stays — a closed account you’re consolidating, a small leftover balance, or points earned incidentally that don’t fit your travel plans — and you specifically need Avios for a flight redemption.
The Bottom Line
Marriott is the standout option here, both for its bidirectional flexibility and its comparatively strong 3:1-plus-bonus rate. Hilton, IHG, Accor, Méliá, Radisson, and Choice all offer a one-way exit into Avios, but at rates that generally favor keeping the points in their home program unless you have a specific reason to move them. Hyatt points, notably, have no path into Avios at all.
Frequently Asked Questions
Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Accor Live Limitless, Mélixc3xa1 Rewards, Radisson Rewards, and Choice Privileges all offer a conversion path into Avios. World of Hyatt does not currently have any conversion path to Avios. No. Only Marriott Bonvoy has a bidirectional relationship with Avios, through Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Hilton, IHG, Accor, Mélixc3xa1, Radisson, and Choice Privileges only send points into Avios — there’s no route back. Marriott Bonvoy, at 3 Marriott points per Avios plus a 5,000-Avios bonus for every 60,000 points converted. Among the one-way programs, IHG One Rewards and Choice Privileges both convert at 5:1, a better rate than Hilton Honors or Radisson Rewards, which convert at 10:1. It depends on the program. At 10:1 rates like Hilton’s or Radisson’s, you typically get more value redeeming the points directly for hotel stays. It tends to make the most sense for leftover or incidental balances you’re not planning to use for hotel stays, especially through Marriott’s stronger rate. Possibly — Accor has been reported to offer a more favorable rate through Iberia Plus (around 1:1) compared to British Airways’ 2:1, even though both route into the same pooled Avios. Since Accor sets separate ratios per airline partner, it’s worth comparing both options directly in your accounts before converting.Which hotel programs can convert points into Avios?
