Returning to InterContinental Sofia: A Reliable Stay Experience

I’m a regular visitor to the InterContinental Sofia, and I’m always given a really nice upgrade. It’s usually a cathedral suite which has a terrace and you can see across to the cathedral. On arrival, the staff greeted me with a wonderful smile and a “Welcome Back”.
The check-in process is always smooth and very efficient. This time I got an apology as the usual upgrades were not available as they were fully booked but I was given a further upgrade to a one-bed suite which has a living area and separate bathroom and bedroom area along with a guest bathroom.
I have stayed in one of these rooms before and they are very spacious and despite not having a balcony they have a lot of space, and you can close off the bedroom from the main living room.
Amazingly, getting a bigger suite gets you an apology, but it speaks volumes about the level of service at this hotel for returning guests.
I think there are a lot of managers that could learn a lot from this hotel and the way the staff talk to guests and make them feel so very welcome.
I love staying here but do feel rather sad when I leave, but It’s not long before I’ve booked another stay. Such a great and well-run hotel.
