Important Notice for Holiday Inn Pattaya Bookings
Points Refund and Booking Issues Attention all members who booked a stay with Holiday Inn Pattaya using reward points. You might see your points refunded in your account and may receive an email from the hotel stating your booking has accidentally been canceled. You will then be given the option to rebook using points or be offered a cash payment option for the room. The rates may be higher now than what you have booked using points. The hotel will not be able to help you book at the older points rate, but you can contact IHG directly to explain your situation, and IHG should be able to help you get back the same reward points booking rate.
Personal Experience and Advice
I went through an emotional rollercoaster and do not want you to go through the same thing. Anyway, it is not a scam — just a technical glitch at their end. Since the reservations manager was so nice to me, I thought I should do her a favor and make this announcement while helping you guys with this.
Review of Holiday Inn Pattaya
First Impressions
This is the first time my family has traveled to Pattaya, and after some research from this awesome group looking for an IHG hotel, we decided to book the Holiday Inn over Intercontinental for its good reviews and good location. We were not disappointed, although I was a bit flustered due to the system glitch a day before arriving.
Location
The location is superb! It is just next to the beach, 10 10-minute walk to Big C – a large supermarket, Central Marina Mall, Terminal 21 Mall, a really nice new mall that has almost everything! You can shop there for hours. You can get to many eateries, massage parlors, and money changers. You don’t need to hire a taxi as you are right in the middle of the activity area! We only took a Grab car to visit the Thepprasit night market (highly recommended), 30 minutes away.
Hotel Facilities
Hotel Facilities I used 18k reward points per night for this hotel. Based on what I ‘spent,’ the facilities are valued for money. As an IHG Elite Platinum member with lounge access, I had the opportunity to visit the lounge.
What a great view! Come at 6 pm to watch the sunset in the lounge. Happy hours are 5-7 pm for lounge access members. Breakfast is good!
We got the chance to dine both indoors and by the pool. Both are lovely!
It is extremely kid-friendly with facilities for kids too. There is a kid’s pool and a regular infinity pool overlooking the beach. We enjoyed the pool facilities twice as it was lovely.
Room Comfort and View
The room is comfortable, and we love the mattress. Though not a luxurious hotel, for the amount the hotel charges, I highly recommend it. The beach view is lovely. We got the sea view, but it was equally great, too, as we got to see the beach as well. The Bay Tower will be the choice hotel tower over the Executive Tower.
Renovations and Future Plans
The Bay Tower Hotel is currently under renovation work and should be completed in a couple of months. We are excited and plan for our next trip and will stay in this hotel again.
Staff and Service
The staff are all very friendly, chambermaids are courteous and lovely. The lounge team is exceptional.
