The promotion has two options
1. Earn 100 Loyalty Points for every 1,000 AAdvantage miles redeemed, up to 20,000 points.
2. Earn 50 Loyalty Points for every 1,000 AAdvantage miles redeemed, also up to 20,000 points.
How to participate
- Register and book travel by October 7, 2024.
- Complete travel by December 31, 2024.
- Only flights booked with American Airlines or American Eagle qualify.
- You can earn a maximum of 20,000 Loyalty Points.
- Expect the points to post within six to eight weeks after your trip.
Where to check if you have this offer
Log into your AAdvantage account. Click on Promotions to check eligibility on aa.com or in the mobile app. If you haven’t been targeted, registration is not possible.
This promotion seems highly selective.
Conclusion
Currently, when members book award flights using their AAdvantage miles, they don’t earn Loyalty Points. This September promotion provides an opportunity to earn loyalty points on award flights. Who knows, but maybe American Airlines will introduce such changes to their program in the future.
