American Airlines encourages World of Hyatt Explorist or Globalist members to quickly achieve AAdvantage Platinum Pro status and higher through its Instant Status Pass program.
Check your email to see if you have received an invitation to join. If you haven’t received the email, be sure to link your Hyatt and American Airlines loyalty program accounts and check the “Promotions” tab on your aa.com account home page to see if you can sign up for an Instant Status Pass.
Instant Upgrade to AAdvantage Platinum Pro Status
The Instant Status Pass program invitation is valid until September 5, 2024. By signing up for this promotion, you will receive an instant Platinum Pro elite status for 4 months, called “Phase 1”.
With Platinum Pro elite status, you get the following benefits: free upgrade on American Airlines and Alaska Airlines flights, 80% mileage bonus, free Extra and Preferred main cabin seats, and up to 3 free pieces of checked baggage.
In Phase 2, you can downgrade to zero, upgrade to Platinum, keep Platinum Pro or upgrade to Executive Platinum for another 4 months if you accumulate a certain amount of Loyalty Points:
- 25,000 Loyalty Points: Platinum status
- 42 000 Loyalty Points: Platinum Pro status
- 67 000 Loyalty Points: Executive Platinum status
If you want to keep the elite status for another 4 months after that, the whole process starts again at “Phase 3”.

How to Understand Which Phase the Earned Loyalty Points Will Go to
- Eligibility will be determined based on the dates of your loyalty points activity.
- Loyalty points earned before registration are not eligible for this promotion.
When the Instant Status Pass Program Ends and Until When the Earned Elite Status is Valid
After you complete all three stages of the Instant Status Pass promotion within the appropriate time frame, you will be considered to have completed the Instant Status Pass promotion.
If you started the Instant Status Pass promotion between March 1 and October 31, your earned AAdvantage status will remain valid for the remainder of the current membership year after completing the three stages.
Conclusions
