As the new year kicks off, American Airlines is giving AAdvantage members an exciting opportunity to earn bonus miles through its AAdvantage eShopping. From January 6, 2025, to January 12, 2025, members can earn up to 1,000 bonus miles on qualifying purchases during the limited-time “New Year Bonus” promotion.

How It Works

During the bonus period, you can earn a one-time bonus in addition to the base miles you typically earn from shopping online. The bonus is tiered based on your cumulative qualifying purchases:

• Tier 1: Spend at least $200 and earn 500 bonus miles.

• Tier 2: Spend $500 or more to receive a maximum of 1,000 bonus miles.

Key Details to Remember

• Only qualifying purchases count toward the bonus. These exclude returns, cancellations, shipping, taxes, gift cards, and other cash equivalents.

• Some products may also be ineligible for bonus miles. Make sure to review the specific terms on the AAdvantage eShopping mall website.

• Bonus miles will post to your account within 10 weeks after the promotion ends.

Terms and conditions

During the “New Year Bonus” offer, which runs from 1/6/2025 through 1/12/2025 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,000 AAdvantage® miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the base AAdvantage® miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShopping® mall. This one-time bonus award will be determined based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period using one of the following tiers: Tier 1 bonus: 500 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200; or Tier 2 bonus: 1,000 bonus miles for qualifying purchases of $500 or more. “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.
