Rewards Сhase Sapphire Preferred Rates and Perks
The annual fee for the Sapphire Preferred is $95. In addition to a one-time welcome offer, the card earns rewards on a continuous basis for subsequent spending:
- 5x on travel purchased through Chase Travel.
- 5x points on Lyft rides.
- 3x on restaurants, some streaming services and online grocery purchases.
- 2x on all other travel purchases.
- 1x on all other purchases.
You also receive an annual bonus of 10% of your total spending for the previous year (i.e., if you spend $25,000 in spending on the card in a year, you will receive a bonus of 2,500 points).
All cardholders earn up to $50 per year in statement credits when they book a hotel room through Chase Travel.
Eligible trips will be backed by some of the best travel protections available with a credit card, including trip cancellation and interruption insurance, trip delay reimbursement, baggage delay insurance and basic rental car collision coverage, all at no additional cost.

What You Need to Know to Get Approved
To be approved for the Chase Sapphire card, you need a good or higher credit score (generally 670 or higher on the FICO scale).
You are also only eligible for one Sapphire card per person.
In case you have already received a new bonus for any Sapphire card within the last 48 months, you will unfortunately not be eligible for the new Sapphire Preferred.
Chase’s 5/24 rule will automatically reject you if you’ve already opened five or more credit cards in the last 24 months.
