First of two reviews for Singapore IHG.
This is for the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium, where I stayed on points stay for one night (45000). On check-in I was thanked for my loyalty and given a very nice upgrade to a suite which was one-bedroom suite. I had arrived late and was leaving at 10. the next morning, so I really didn’t get to use the room, but I was very thankful for the upgrade. I was offered points for a welcome drink but asked for breakfast instead.
The breakfast in the morning was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. When I arrived at the breakfast, I gave my name and then was told, “Sit where you like. “ The only couple of tables I could find were right at the opposite end of the room ( The hotel is circular so it’s a very long curved room ) due to the fact that the vast majority had not been cleared. I decided to clear my own nearer the buffet breakfast, and a delightful Indian lady with her family joined in, and we cleared a few spaces for us all. The buffet was busy but the majority of the hot food was lukewarm or had not been refilled. I asked one of the staff for a coffee and was told, “there’s the machine,” as she wandered off.
The food quality was poor and the selection was basic due to it not being refilled but it just seemed really badly managed for a restaurant that offers a gastronomic experience I suppose it was.
My next stay was at the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay. Read my review here.
