Offer Ends: Expired
Qatar Airways has initiated a membership tier extension for selected members of its Privilege Club. The move, which follows a similar campaign last year, extends the elite status of certain members until March 31, 2024.
The renewal of statuses seems to be selective and applies only to the elite membership segment, unlike last year’s campaign, which applied to all members throughout the year.
The criteria for selecting members for this extension remain unclear.
Many Privilege Club members have noticed an unexpected status extension on their accounts. Their Qatar Platinum, Gold and Silver status has now been extended until March 31, 2024. (Some of them have seen their status extended despite not having flown on Qatar Airways).
This strategy raises questions about Qatar Airways’ goals. Is this continuation a tactic to retain elite passengers, or an incentive to encourage more travel with Qatar Airways?
Conclusion: Future Implications
It’s good to see that Qatar Airways is maintaining its commitment to benefits for program members. However, there may be mixed feelings among the airline’s regular passengers, as the only direct benefit seems to be an increase in cabin seats, with no direct benefits for them.
So far, there has been no official statement from Qatar Airways about this extension.
