Alaska Airlines released a targeted offer to receive bonus miles for every miles purchase. Find the offer details page here to see whether you were selected for a 40%, 50%, or 60% bonus. These are all reported deals, but leave a comment if you got something different.
We always say that miles bonus promotions are the best time to buy miles, and this is no exception. The regular price for Alaska Mileage Plan miles is 2.75 cents per mile. With this bonus offer, you can expect to pay as low as 1.72 cents per mile with the 60% bonus (approx. 1.92 cents per mile with a 40% bonus).
The more points you purchase, the higher bonus miles you’ll receive. With the 40% offer, here are the price breaks:
- Buy 3,000-14,000 miles and get 30% bonus miles
- Buy 15,000-100,000 miles and get 40% bonus miles
The most points you can purchase at one time is 100,000. Non-elite Mileage Plan members can purchase an annual limit of 150,000 miles (bonus miles excluded). However, elite members with MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP 75K status can buy unlimited miles.
Unlike other airline co-branded credit cards, purchasing Mileage Plan miles does not qualify as an eligible Alaska Airlines purchase (loyalty program points managed by points.com). However, you can still earn 1 point per dollar spent on these credit cards:
- Alaska Airlines Visa Signature ($95 annual fee)
- Alaska Airlines Visa Business Credit Card ($70 annual fee per business and $25/year per card)
For those with inactive Mileage Plan accounts, miles expire within two years. Purchasing miles qualifies to keep your account status active.
