IHG One Rewards has launched a new airline partnership promotion, this time with Lufthansa Miles & More, giving members the chance to earn 3X miles on eligible hotel stays. It follows the same format as IHG’s recent United MileagePlus and American Airlines AAdvantage promotions — switch your IHG earning preference from points to airline miles, register for the offer, and earn triple miles on qualifying stays.
Details of the Offer
The promo works the same way as IHG’s other recent airline-partner offers:
- register for the offer between October 1 and November 30, 2026,
- switch your earning preference to Lufthansa Miles & More in your IHG One Rewards account,
- book a new eligible stay of at least one night through the promo link,
- and complete that stay by December 31, 2026.
To participate, you must be a member of both IHG One Rewards and Lufthansa Miles & More. Only direct bookings made through IHG qualify — Reward Nights, Points & Cash reservations, and bookings through third-party sites like Expedia or Booking.com are excluded.
How the Miles Add Up
Choosing Lufthansa Miles & More as your earning preference means you will not earn IHG One Rewards points for these stays — you’ll receive airline miles instead. Normally, that earning preference pays 2 miles per US$1 spent at most IHG brands, or 1 mile per US$1 at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites. Under this promotion, that rate triples to 6 miles per US$1 and 3 miles per US$1 respectively — the standard miles plus the promotional bonus combined, with no cap on how many bonus miles you can earn.
For example, a stay that would normally earn 400 Miles & More miles earns 1,200 miles during the promotion period. Miles typically post to your account within six weeks of checkout.
Which Hotels Are Participating?
The promotion is available at participating IHG brands, including InterContinental, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, voco, Vignette Collection, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Six Senses, and most other IHG properties worldwide, though individual hotels may opt out. Is It Worth Switching From IHG Points?
This offer makes the most sense for travelers who value Lufthansa Miles & More miles more than IHG One Rewards points, or who are working toward a specific Lufthansa, Star Alliance, or partner-airline redemption. It’s a separate offer from IHG’s broader 3X points promotion running the same Oct 1–Dec 31, 2026 window — that one keeps your earnings in IHG points rather than converting them to airline miles, so compare the two before registering. Members chasing IHG elite-qualifying points or elite night credits tied to point earnings should weigh that trade-off carefully before switching their preference over to miles.
