Bilt Rewards has quickly become a favorite for renters and travelers by turning rent payments into valuable points. This guide provides a comprehensive look at Bilt rewards transfer partners – both airlines and hotels – and how to maximize Bilt points. We will tell you in detail about all current partners (with transfer rates and times), and show you how to use Bilt points to your maximum advantage. We’ll also answer the most frequently asked questions about Bilt points, from their value to expiration and transfer rules.
Overview of Bilt Transfer Partners (Airlines & Hotels)
As of 2025, Bilt Rewards points can be transferred to 18 travel loyalty programs: 13 airlines and 5 hotel partners. Almost all transfers are made in a 1:1 ratio (1 Bilt point = 1 mile or hotel point), but there are others. We’ll tell you about them later. It can take up to 48 hours to transfer points, but usually happens immediately. Bilt’s list of partners is one of the strongest among credit card programs, including major airline alliances and hotel chains.
Airline Partners (1:1 unless noted): Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Avianca LifeMiles, British Airways Executive Club, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Emirates Skywards, Iberia Plus, Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles, United MileagePlus, Virgin Red (Virgin Atlantic), and TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go.
Bilt was also the only U.S. program allowing 1:1 transfers to American Airlines AAdvantage until that partnership ended in June 2024 – more on this below.

Hotel Partners: World of Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, IHG One Rewards, and Accor Live Limitless. Hyatt, Marriott, and IHG transfer 1:1, while Accor transfers at 3:2 (e.g. 3,000 Bilt = 2,000 Accor points).

Each partner program has a minimum transfer of 1,000 points for Silver status and above (2,000 for Blue members). All transfers must be in 1,000-point increments. In most cases, points show up immediately or within minutes in the target program. (Bilt’s official guidance is to allow up to 48 hours, though this delay is rare.) Notably, Turkish Miles & Smiles transfers have been reported to take longer (several days), while Marriott Bonvoy transfers can occasionally take up to 1–2 days.
The table below lists all current Bilt transfer partners with their type, ratio, estimated transfer time, and notes:

Notes: American Airlines AAdvantage was a Bilt airline partner at 1:1 until June 24, 2024. Bilt was uniquely the only transferable points program for AA miles. That partnership has ended, so Bilt points can no longer be sent to AA. Also, Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles was briefly a partner but transfers are currently paused (as of May 31, 2024).
Bilt’s collection of partners spans all three major airline alliances – Oneworld (e.g. Alaska, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia), Star Alliance (Air Canada, Turkish, United, etc.), and even a SkyTeam option (Flying Blue for Air France/KLM). This gives tremendous flexibility: you can transfer Bilt points to book flights on hundreds of airlines worldwide. For example, Alaska Mileage Plan can be used for American Airlines or Cathay Pacific flights, Flying Blue covers SkyTeam partners like Delta, and Avios (BA/Iberia) can book Oneworld partners like Qatar Airways or American. On the hotel side, World of Hyatt is a standout partner for high-value hotel redemptions, while Marriott, IHG, and Hilton provide broad coverage with moderate value.
Bilt Transfer Bonus History and Rent Day Promotions
One exciting feature of Bilt is its Rent Day promotions on the first of each month. Often, Bilt offers transfer bonuses or other perks on Rent Day to reward users. These bonuses grant extra miles or points when moving Bilt points to partners, effectively boosting your transfer ratio. Over the past couple of years, Bilt has shown a pattern of rotating these bonuses among different partners.
In 2025, Bilt is extending its “Rental Day” promotions. So on March 1, 2025, Bilt offered a whopping 150%-200% bonus for transferring to the Hilton Honors program on Rental Day (depending on the tier, although even a 200% bonus to the Hilton 1:1 program is still not very valuable given the low value of Hilton points).
On April 1, 2025 (April rental day), Bilt offered up to a 100% bonus for transfers to Avios programs – including British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus. This Avios promotion ranged from a 50% bonus for basic members to 100% for higher tier members, effectively doubling transfers for some.
Note that bonuses often depend on your Bilt status level (Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum), meaning that members with a higher level receive a higher bonus. For example, the bonus can be 75% for Blue, 100% for Silver, 125% for Gold, and 150% for Platinum. Sometimes fixed bonuses (for example, 2x points) are applied to all members.
Pro Tip: If you’re planning a large transfer, it’s worth waiting for the bonus. For example, if a 100% bonus is offered to the program you want, 10,000 Bilt points will earn you 20,000 miles – a huge boost.
In addition to transfer bonuses, Rent Day also often offers other perks, such as free or increased earnings on the 1st of the month. Bilt typically awards double points on non-rental expenses on Rent Day (up to 1,000 points), meaning all of your dining, travel, etc. expenses earn double the usual amount on the first of the month. They also have games like “Point Quest” or “Rent Free” where you can win bonus points or even a free month of rent. With all of these additions, Bilt has made Rent Day something that Bilt members look forward to, and the transfer bonuses, increase the value of your rewards.
How to Use Bilt Points Strategically
The smartest strategy is to transfer your Bilt points to a partner where you’ll get the highest value per point for the redemptions you want. Premium-class flights and upscale hotel stays often yield the most value.
For example, by transferring 100,000 Bilt points to Hyatt, you can easily get a hotel stay worth $1,500 to $2,000 (e.g., 5 nights at a luxury resort) – a much better deal than using those points for a $700 discount on a rental.
Similarly, 100k Bilt → Turkish or Virgin can unlock business or first-class flights worth several thousand dollars.
Bilt points give you the ability to “hunt” for the best reward offer across programs, which is a big advantage over being stuck with one program.
Bilt transfers are one-way (once you transfer points to a partner, they become miles/points in that program), so make sure the flights or hotels you want are available for booking. The Bilt app’s interface and built-in award search for some partners can help with this.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do Bilt points expire?
No, Bilt points don't expire as long as your account is active at least once every 18 months - this can be by earning points (such as paying rent or making any purchase with the card), redeeming points, or even participating in Bilt promotions.
Tip: Just remember to earn or spend at least one point each year - for example, use your card once or play the Rent Day game - and your Bilt points will stay safe.
What’s the conversion rate of Bilt points to cash or travel?
Bilt points are converted to travel at high rates (often 1.25-2¢ each, depending on usage), or to cash/account credit at lower rates (around 0.5-0.7¢).
- Transfer to Travel Partners: 1 Bilt point converts to 1 airline mile or hotel point in nearly all cases (1:1 ratio). The value then depends on that program. For instance, 1 point → 1 Hyatt point (worth ~2¢ on average in hotel stay) or 1 point → 1 United mile (worth ~1.3¢ toward flights). This is where you can get outsized value – e.g. 10,000 points → 10,000 Turkish miles could be a $300 ticket (3¢/pt).
- Bilt Travel Portal: Points convert at 1 point = 1.25 cents of travel credit. So 10,000 points = $125 toward a flight or hotel through the Bilt/Expedia portal.
- Rent Payments: If you use points for rent, the conversion is about 0.55 cents per point (based on user data, roughly $5.50 per 1k points). Bilt hasn’t published an exact ratio, but essentially they let you cover rent at a rate slightly better than half a cent per point. Example: 10,000 points might take ~$55 off your rent. This is a relatively low value compared to travel, so redeeming for rent is convenient but not the most lucrative.
- Downpayment on a Home: Bilt points convert at 1.5 cents each toward a mortgage downpayment with approved partners. This is a great rate for a cash-equivalent use. For example, 100k points = $1,500 off your closing costs. It’s a one-time use per home purchase and requires some paperwork, but it can meaningfully reduce the cash you need to buy a house.
- Statement Credit (Pay Card Balance): Bilt introduced the ability to apply points as a payment toward your Bilt Mastercard balance. The exact conversion isn’t stated on the support page, but typically statement credits via bank programs are around 0.5–1¢ per point.
- Amazon Shop with Points: If you link Bilt to Amazon, 1,000 points = $7 on Amazon purchases (0.7¢/pt). This is an easy redemption but again lower than travel value.
Convert to cash/rent only if you really need to, as you're missing out on a lot of potential benefits.
Can you transfer Bilt points to another person?
Bilt does not allow you to transfer or gift points to other Bilt members' accounts.
Unlike Chase or Amex, which in some cases allow you to combine points within a family, Bilt does not support this. However, there are a few workarounds if you want to help someone else out.
For example, you can transfer Bilt points to Hyatt (into your account) and then use Hyatt's own point transfer feature to send points from you to someone else (Hyatt allows you to combine points with anyone by filling out a form) - effectively moving the points you received from Bilt to the other person through Hyatt. Similarly, you can transfer points to British Airways Avios and then use BA's family pool or combine Avios with a family member.
A safer way to share Bilt points is to book an airline ticket or hotel for someone else from your own loyalty account (most airlines/hotels allow you to use miles/points to book travel for others). For example, transfer Bilt miles to United in your account and then book a flight in your friend's name - you've effectively “passed on” the benefit to them by buying their ticket with your points.
How do I transfer Bilt points to American Airlines?
As mentioned earlier, you unfortunately can’t transfer Bilt points to American Airlines anymore. That capability ended on June 24, 2024.
For those who have Bilt points and want to use them for American Airlines flights, here are alternatives:
- British Airways / Iberia Avios: Transfer Bilt to BA or Iberia (1:1). You can then use Avios to book American Airlines award flights, since AA is a partner of BA and Iberia. Short flights are especially a good deal with Avios. You will need an account with the Avios program and search for award space on their sites.
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles: Transfer Bilt to Asia Miles (1:1). Cathay’s program can book American Airlines awards (they are both in Oneworld). Sometimes Asia Miles has access to more AA award space or lower fees than BA. The downside is Asia Miles transfers aren’t instant and can take a few days, so this is best if planning in advance.
- Alaska Airlines: Alaska is a close partner of AA (you can redeem Alaska miles for flights on the American airline, often at attractive fares). Thus, Bilt miles → Alaska miles (1:1) is another way to book AA flights, especially on domestic or Alaska flights.
- Marriott Bonvoy: In a pinch, you could transfer Bilt to Marriott (1:1 + bonus) and then transfer Marriott points to American Airlines. Marriott lets you convert 60k Marriott into 25k AA miles (with a 5k bonus = 20k->25k miles) – but if you do the math, transferring Bilt→Marriott→AA yields only 0.42 AA miles per 1 Bilt point (since 60k Bilt = 60k Marriott = 25k AA). That’s a very poor rate, so this is generally not recommended unless you just need a few thousand AA miles and have no other choice.
How do I transfer Bilt points to Hyatt?
Follow these steps to transfer Bilt points to World of Hyatt:
- Link your Hyatt account to Bilt: In the Bilt app, go to the Rewards → Transfers section. Select Hotels → World of Hyatt. If you haven’t linked accounts before, you’ll be prompted to enter your Hyatt membership details (number and last name) to link. Once linked, you even get a bonus 100 Bilt points as a one-time perk for linking a loyalty account.
- Enter the transfer amount: Bilt transfers must be in increments of 1,000 (minimum 2,000 for Blue status members). Input how many Bilt points you want to convert to Hyatt. Because the ratio is 1:1, 1,000 Bilt = 1,000 Hyatt points.
- Confirm the transfer.
- Use your Hyatt points: Once the points show up in your World of Hyatt account (you can check via Hyatt’s app or website under your point balance), you can spend them on award stays.
Remember the minimum amounts (1,000 or 2,000) - you can't transfer, say, 500 points. If you need an odd number, round up or down to the nearest 1,000.
One more tip: bonus nights at Hyatt start at 3,500 points (not peak category 1) per free night, but these increments may not be the same as the 1,000-point increments at Bilt. Therefore, you may transfer a little more than you need.
Conclusion
By leveraging the above information, Bilt Rewards members – especially those with the Bilt Mastercard – can effectively earn points on rent and everyday spending, and then transfer those points to top-tier travel programs for outsized value. With 1:1 transfers to programs like Hyatt, United, Flying Blue, and more, plus regular transfer bonus promotions, Bilt has become a powerful tool for travel enthusiasts.
